Advanced Domestic Training

About the Class

Grade 2 further refines skills and introduces more complex exercises, increased distractions, and higher expectations of teamwork between dog and handler.

The class focuses on:

• Reliable obedience with increased duration and distance

• Improved loose leash walking

• Recalls under distraction

• Advanced stays

• Calm, controlled behaviour in group settings

• Preparation for Canine Good Citizen (CGC) or competition pathways

Training remains positive, supportive, and goal-focused.

Class Details

• Day:Tuesday

• Time: 6.45pm – approximately 7.30pm

• Class length: 9-week term

Eligibility

• Dogs must have successfully completed Grade 1

• Entry is subject to instructor approval

• Minimum age of handler: 16 years

Progression Options

Dogs completing Grade 2 may progress to:

• Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

• Competitive Obedience

• Specialty classes (subject to availability)

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend the course for any reason, notification as soon as possible is appreciated via email:

• Cancellations received 7 days or more prior to the course start date will be refunded, less a $10 administration fee

• Cancellations received within 7 days of the course start date will only be refunded if the place can be refilled; otherwise, no refund will be given

• The Committee may consider written applications for a full or partial refund in exceptional circumstances, at its sole discretion
